Busy, busy, busy...

So much to do, so little time.

Along with stuff for the house, I'm working on an article for the Historical Novel Society magazine. And I've started my Christmas knitting. Plus we've had visitors.

Here's what the front of the house looks like now:

And, we have a first coat of paint on the main floor - below are the front hall and the kitchen:

I'm still percolating my new story. It's frustrating me as well. I can't seem to make all the plot elements tie together. I don't think I've ever had this much of a problem with my plotting - my first three mss came together pretty well by themselves. But this is the second story I've tried out and I just can't seem to get anywhere. I'm really starting to think that I'm missing my critique group meetings even more than I thought. We meet on line, but it's just not the same thing as face to face conversation.

Guess once we're settled I'll have to find a new way to plot and write.

Wow, the house looks great! I love the colour of the exterior--it's so warm looking.

Sorry to hear about your frustrations with the MS. Shoot me an e-mail if there's any way I can help (although you know that plotting is SO not my strong point!).

The house looks terrific! Amazing what a coat of paint will do--it looks ready to move into. I'm so envious.

I've also had major frustrations on the settling-into-a-story-front. I'm moving forward now, but I can empathize with the stop-start feel of things not quite coming together. Be patient, it'll come.

Wonderful progress on your house!

Hope the plotting difficulties are short-lived.

What sort of article are you writing for HNS?

How've you been, Tess?

Wow...I love the house!

I know what you mean with the plotting problems. I've restarted the same story three times, and never got much of anywhere with it. After I finish my short writing break (I finally submitted my first ms!), I'll be hopping back into the fray.

If you find the secret that breaks the barrier, will you share?

I hate when the plot won't cooperate. But on the plus side, the house looks AMAZING! You must be getting so excited!!
